The EDIRE team member, Cinzia Leone from the University of Genova, Italy, gave an online lecture on Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, and Gender Equality Plan for students from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina. The talk was organised by the Association for the development of education, science, and research from BiH, and it was held online.
The professor from UniGe had the opportunity to present EDIRE and underlines the importance of research in academia. By explaining what EDI principles are, Leone explained how EDIRE project would enhance research in BiH. Apart from that, students heard more about gender in general and gender equality in Europe.
The other important part of the lecture was about the gender equality plan development. Students had the opportunity to hear how European universities developed plans, and what are the most important features of these plans. The whole process of the GEP development was presented, and students got access to the presentation with all that they need in order to start working on their own GEPs.
The students of Sarajevo area universities had an opportunity to learn benefits of gender equality plans for students as well as university employees. They could also learn how universities in general benefit if they have well-developed gender equality plans.
