EDI & RRI Principles

EDI & RRI

The collaborative integration of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles with Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) principles is a concerted effort to advance research fields in the Western Balkans, receiving full support from the EU grants program framework.

In December 2022, Professor Jasminka Hasić Telalović, the Coordinator of the EDIRE project, actively participated in the public event titled “Public engagement in R&I – Science education and Gender Equality in Science,” organized by the WBC-RRI.NET team in Podgorica, Montenegro. (https://edire.eu/public-engagement-in-ri-science-education-and-gender-equality-in-science/)

This engagement served as a platform for the dissemination of EDIRE activities and the collaborative exploration of EDI and RRI principles within the context of the Western Balkans.

Over the past year, WBC-RRI.NET (https://wbc-rri.net/use-of-responsible-research-and-innovation-concepts-in-stem-education/) has developed a series of videos addressing various topics, which will be distributed to universities and schools. Professor Jasminka actively contributed by presenting on the Gender Dimension in STEM Education.

We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to share knowledge and exchange results with other EU-funded projects.

The EDIRE project has played a pivotal role in supporting and empowering SSST University, positioning it as a leader in research enhancement by aligning with and promoting all Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles. This strategic approach fosters collaboration not only with universities across Bosnia and Herzegovina but also within the broader context of the Western Balkans and the European Union.
