Conference: Gender Equality Plans and universities of the future

The University of Genoa organized an event with international speakers, open to the university community and citizenship, to talk about GEP – Gender Equality Plan, gender and intersectionality, experiences, and best practices on inclusion and diversity.  

Members of the EDIRE team had the opportunity to give speeches at the conference.  

Cinzia Leone, (University of Genoa) introduced the Conference with a speech on Gender Equality Plans and Horizon Europe Projects. 

Jasminka Hasić Telalović spoke on gender and intersectionality in the Bosnian context with a Bosnian perspective and presented the main objectives of the EDIRE project at the first session, called “Gender and Intersectionality in the Academic Context: theoretical perspectives and international experiences.”   

Lyuba Spasova from the Bulgarian Academy of Science, the coordinator of the MILIEU project and member of the Advisory board of EDIRE, presented insights and good practices from MILIEU in a talk called From women to gender: a journey in several stages. History of a controversial terminology.  

Team members from the University of Genoa took part in the second session of the Conference, which was moderated by Angela Celeste Taramasso (University of Genoa). Rita Bencivenga talked about Strategies to promote GEPs adoption and monitoring, and Carla Maria Reale participated with the theme of Intersectionality in European gender equality policy and GEPs.
