Influencing Change – Promoting Equality: A Powerful Discussion at University SSST

As part of the 16 Days of Activism Campaign in November 2024, the University SSST—coordinating institution of the EDIRE project—had the privilege of hosting the inspiring panel discussion “Influencing Change – Promoting Equality”. This activity was carried out within the framework of the UNIGEM project with the support of TPO Foundation. The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with theme that resonates with the core values of the EDIRE projectpromoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).

The panel featured three of the most prominent influencers in Bosnia and Herzegovina—Brankica Raković, Nadine Mičić, and Mirza Mustafagić—who shared their insights on the evolving role of social media in today’s world. With over 200,000 followers across Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans, these influential voices discussed how content creation can be a force for positive change, transcending mere brand building to promote meaningful social causes.

Moderated by Emina Ganić, the conversation explored the dual role of influencing as both a business tool and a platform for activism. The panellists reflected on their personal experiences in shaping cultural narratives, running charitable initiatives, and raising awareness on important societal issues, all while balancing commercial interests with the responsibility that comes with such influence.

The discussion was not only an exploration of the potential for influencers to drive societal change but also an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of promoting equality and inclusion through storytelling. It left attendees inspired, empowered, and more aware of the powerful role social media can play in fostering a fairer, more inclusive world.

We extend our thanks to everyone who attended for contributing to this enriching conversation. Together, we can continue shaping a more equal, diverse, and inclusive future!
