Organized by the European Night of Researchers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, HUB Homework, MEDNIGHT in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Mediterranean Researchers Night), the Bosnian-Herzegovinian-American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), BH Futures Foundation, Verlab Institute, Diagnostics Dr. Dedić, Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) under the auspices of the European Union – Horizon Europe and the Federal Ministry of Education and Science of BiH, the event brought together numerous participants of all ages with the aim of promoting science and highlighting the role of women in STEAM fields.

EDIRE project coordinator, prof. Jasminka Hasić Telalović was a participant in this Open Science event, who shared her experiences in her scientific journey, but also about the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion components, which are crucial for women and girls in science.

“Today we showed that science is not just a laboratory and formulas. It is a story of passion, persistence and courage to ask questions and seek answers. The girls who were here today may be future leaders in science. And knowledge gives them freedom, that leads to the equality, diversity and inclusion” said Jasminka Hasić Telalović, bioinformatician and researcher.

The event concluded with the “Mediterranean Marie Curie” exhibition, dedicated to women who left an indelible mark in the scientific world with their work. Each of these women, presented at the exhibition, with the help of the prestigious Marie Curie scholarships provided to them by the European Union, made great and significant steps in their scientific and research – be it natural sciences, engineering, mathematics, but also life fields.  The Marie Curie Alumni Association played a key role in connecting these women and providing support in the development of their careers.
