Last week, our team had the exceptional opportunity to attend the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA) Conference, where we engaged deeply with the exciting theme of Open Science in a Changing Global System.
Professor Jasminka Hasić Telalović, EDIRE Project Coordinator, along with Edis Arifagić, Head of the Office for Research and Project Administration at the University SSST, made significant contributions to this inspiring event.
Over the two-day conference, we explored how Open Science can benefit lower-income countries by enhancing access to publications, increasing collaboration opportunities, and reaching wider audiences. We also addressed the challenges researchers in these regions face, particularly the pressures to adopt Open Science practices amidst limited resources.
Professor Jasminka participated as a panelist in a thought-provoking discussion titled “Changing Research Practices and a New Emphasis on Open Science Requires Policy Strategy and Infrastructural Support.” She was joined by other esteemed experts, including Dr. Curtis Sharma, Skills4EOSC Community Manager at 4TU Research Data and Dr. Sander Bosch, Open Science Coordinator at VU Amsterdam, under the adept leadership of Lindsay Dowling, Open Research Support Unit Lead at TU Dublin.
Together, we are committed to paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable research landscape.
