On May 7th, as part of our project activities, the EDIRE team conducted an Open Session titled: “Unlocking Academic Excellence: EDI Principles in Western Balkans Higher Education Institutions.”
The panel was moderated by project coordinator Prof. Jasminka Hasić Telalović. The session began with a presentation of key findings from the Regional Cooperation Council publication: “Mapping of Gender-Related Policies, Programs, and Mechanisms on Gender Disparity in STEM in Western Balkans.”
Panelists included Prof. Vesna Žabkar from the University of Ljubljana and Jovana Mihajlović-Trbovc from the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
During the session, which lasted for over an hour, panelists shared their experiences and research results from their respective institutions and work.
The importance of EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) principles across all disciplines within educational institutions were emphasised throughout the discussion.
